Usually, I’m not a fan of the rain.  But it was supposed to rain here yesterday so I thought that would be the perfect day to break out the umbrella for a fun photoshoot.  No rain, but I had already envisioned the umbrella so I just stuck with.

David was laughing at me.

My photographer had also requested one more batch of chili and taco soup.  I decided that since it was supposed to rain on Monday, that would be the perfect time to snuggle up on the couch, soup in hand.

No rain, but we had the soup.  We have this ongoing debate about how long it’s normal to have soups and chills.  He would eat it when it’s 95 degrees outside in July.  I say once it starts warming up, soups and chills go off the rotation.

What’s your take?

  • cute look! as a lover of nail art I mus say I love that design!

    • Thanks girl! I originally thought it might be too much but I’ve loved this one!

  • Love the mint!! Really loving the nails…how did you do it? xo, Biana – BlovedBoston

    • They’re jam berry wraps so I just used a hairdryer to activate the sticker aspect of them and they’ve been on for a week and a half now!

  • Your nails look amazing! My photographer likes to make lots of food requests as well when it comes to taking blog pictures 😉 ~Amanda~ Meet @ the Barre

    • Funny how they do that, right? At least they’re willing to take the pictures…

  • Absolutely loving your nails!!! I think I could eat soups or chilis all year round but I totally see your point of when its hot it makes more sense to take them out of rotation.

    • Really the main reason I obliged was because it’s such an easy recipe and I just couldn’t pass that up.

  • I love this outfit – especially the matching nails. I have a hard time taking soup (more so than chili) out of the meal rotation lol just so many good/ easy soup recipes!! Have a great week!

  • I could eat soup every. single. day. but I am lucky if my husband eats them three times over the winter so I never try once it’s remotely warm! I save it for more trips to Panera :) I love that teal top! Are your nails Jamberry? I think I’ve seen that pattern there! Love it!!

  • You are the cutest ever. I definitely pick my pants depending on the weather. I hate nothing more than when the hem of my jeans get soaked. I’m uncomfortable ALL day then! Soups and Chilli…hmmm…I’m not hard core against them making a summer time appearance, but definitely not a “staple” in our house in the summer time.

  • I agree…..no soups or chili’s in the crock pot if I’m already wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt! And YES, don’t we all NEED some Hunter rain boots?!?!?!

  • I love your outfit! And yes, I NEED hunters too!! Also, I love soups on rainy days but usually take them out of the rotation in spring. Thanks for linking up with us this week!

  • You look so cute! I think chili is really great for cold/rainy days but once it gets warm I don’t usually want soup or chili anymore either. You nails are so cute! I love them! Are they Jamberry nails??

  • Perfect rainy day look – you nailed all the key items! The hair up is definitely key! I love those nails – so cute!

  • Cute look, and loving those nails! I’m with you about chili/soups – I stop making them once it reaches 50+ degrees. It gives us something to look forward to in the fall!

  • You look adorable! Love the mint, and your nails are super cute! I’m with you on the soup debate…I don’t want soup when it’s 100 degrees outside!

  • This is so stinkin’ cute!! Your nails are amazing! Aren’t rainy days simply the BEST for soup!! Mint green is your color. Love!!

  • Your nails look amazing! Are they wraps? They go with your outfit fabulously! I have an umbrella very similar to the one you linked and I totally spaced on including it! I guess I’ll just have to wait for the next rainy day photoshoot.

  • Love the color of your top and your make up looks really nice!

You are so cute! Cropped pants for rainy days is genius! Also, I eat soup year round–I LOVE soup and I don’t care if it’s a million degrees outside. 😛

  • I love the mint and white combination and those nails are striking!

  • I love this look, that minty color is so pretty on you! I love that you kept the umbrella, it makes for cute, fun pictures. I don’t usually want chili when it’s warm out, but I do like soup on a rainy night, even if it’s not that cold. It just seems like cozy food! :) Thanks for linking up!

  • actually, I kind of wish it was a video :)

  • Haha, that’s exactly what I think every time it rains (which is a lot around here this month): those Hunter boots [need]. Good call on the cropped pants in the meantime though! :)

    • Hubs would say, “You need to learn the difference between WANT and NEED. Probably true!

  • You SO need the Hunters. They’re my favorite accessory even on non-rainy days! And you look gorgeous. And those NAILSSS!

    • Putting Hunter’s on my wish list! And I’m loving these Jamberry wraps… they’re so much more detailed than what I could accomplish with regular nail polish.

  • Such a cute post! I agree with you on the soup front! Once the weather warms up, it’s too warm for it! I love your easy rainy day outfit! I should have taken advice from you earlier today; it’s been raining cats and dogs and I’m drenched and not at all comfy!

    • That’s the worst! As much as I wanted it to be raining Monday afternoon when I was taking pictures, I’m now over it. It’s been raining nonstop since!

  • This is so my kind of outfit – cozy and cute and I’m with your hubby, soup always sounds good! :)

    • Well I made it for him this week… but it might be the last time!
