We have spring break next week {#teacherlife} and today is a workday so it already feels like a win!  Please don’t ask me about the lack of packing I’ve done for our beach trip.

The amount of truth in this ecard is embarrassing.  I’m convinced that there’s nowhere better to read than on the beach.

Other than reading on the beach, I’m also planning to rock both of my new beach hats.

Last night we took Copper to stay with my parents for the week and we celebrated David’s birthday.  #ididnthavetocook #thatsawin

Ignore his terrible haircut.  The lady left his head and tail long and cut his body short.  He looks like a goober.

Wrote this before we went thinking we’d snap a picture for sure.  No such luck.  Just take my word for it – his haircut looks ridiculous and adorable all at the same time.  And he’s having a blast with my parents dog Tyson.  He may never come home.

Remember when I wrote about my love for dry shampoo?  I read this article from InStyle about dry shampoo for dark hair.  Out of the 5 options listed, only one was affordable.  Anyone use Batiste?  It says it’s a UK based company so can you even buy it in drugstores around here?

What dry shampoo do you use?

  • I share in your view of wild vacations! Books for the win!

    • Haha, yesss! I’m so bad at making time to read in real life but vacation life? I can totally find time to sit on the beach with a good book!

  • Teacher here too. Spring break is on! R & R as soon as I can feel better from illness. Enjoy the beach, great hat by the way! From High Five for Friday

    • I’ve been so looking forward to this spring break and so far it’s been very relaxing! Hope yours is great too!!

  • That’s me to a tee!! We leave for beach vacation in the caymans tomorrow for Spring Break!!! Love those beach hats!!!! :-) Enjoy sweet girl!!!

    • Hope your trip has been as relaxing as the start of ours!

  • I love the second hat! The Suave dry shampoo is supposed to be awesome and its cheap! I’ve only used the Paul Mitchell one and it works really well too:)

    • Suave has been my go-to for over a year but then again it’s the only one I’ve ever used!

  • Hooray for spring break! I bet you’re thrilled. Batiste dry shampoo is a good option – I live and swear by Suave’s dry shampoo. Have a great weekend!

    • Me too! So it’s not worth switching to Batiste?

  • I hope you have a great vacation! I love reading on the beach! Those hats look so cute on you! I also use Batiste but the one with the leopard print on it! Smells so good!

    • I feel like I’ve been in the dark on the dry shampoo thing because I always use Suave and apparently a lot of people are loving Batiste. Maybe I should give it a try?

  • I spoke a little about this in my email to you earlier, but the color tinted batistes still leave a residue in your hair (which makes my hair feel “dirty.”) The regular one does have a white cast, but once you rub it in it goes away. You can sometimes find it at walgreens. It’s always at Ulta. And you can sometimes find it at TJ Maxx! It’s the best for sure.

    • Good to know!! My $2 Suave bottle comes out white but I always feel like as long as I rub it in, it doesn’t make my hair white.

  • Have so much fun this week!!! I’m sad that our spring break is almost over!!!!

    • We’re in full-on relaxation mode already. It’s been so great!

  • I am the same way with “wild vacations” hahaha! I would love to just relax on a beach with a great book. My husband and I are going somewhere in May so I’m hoping there will be some time for relaxing too. We have a pretty busy couple days planned lol

    • How fun. Will it be just the two of you getting away? Books on the beach is hard to beat!!

  • I hope you have the best time on your beach vacation and that hat looks absolutely perfect on you – well both of them do!! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston

    • Thanks, B! I’m already enjoying wearing both of them nonstop while we’re here. You’re the one who gave me the idea to begin with!

  • Have fun on your beach vacation!! :) I am obsessed with dry shampoo and the cheapest (and best)I’ve found is the John Frieda brand! You should try it :) and have you tried applying it at night and not brushing it through? I recently started doing this and i’ve seen much better results!

    • I haven’t tried that – maybe I should! Thanks for the suggestion :)

  • I’m all about the books on vacay too! I love dry shampoo. I used to use one that was $25/bottle that I would use Birchbox points for, but then I found Batiste. I just use the regular ones (not for a specific hair color) and really like the brand. You should give it a shot!

    • I’ve heard so many good things about Batiste since I posted that so I’m going to look for it as soon as my $2 Suave runs out!
