Hey Girl,

You know what your new favorite thing is? Copper.  All he has to do is walk past you and a huge grin spreads across your face.  When he plays with you it’s just nonstop laughter.  Belly laughs. High-pitch squeals. Somehow that makes vacuuming every 7 seconds just a little bit less demoralizing… but only because he makes you laugh THAT much.

For the last two weeks, you’ve been sitting up pretty well on your own.  It reminds me that you’re such a big girl because it happened in like two days.  All of the sudden I realized that I didn’t have to catch you (as much) anymore.  We’re going to enjoy this sitting up independence before you start crawling.

You got to hang out with Avery last weekend and the two of you were so cute together.  Avery was playing with a glow-in-the-dark basketball and you just thought it was hilarious.  You were dedicated at church last weekend and sailed through it.  You even left the spitting up gig to your cousin. #thatsafirst

Everyone loves to comment on how you look just like your Daddy. Apparently, he was a pretty cute baby. If he could change one thing about you, it would be that you’d snuggle with him. As an infant, you’d fall asleep on his chest anytime you were tired. Now? Not even an option. Once in a blue moon, you’ll snuggle when you wake up… but those are few and far between.

How were you a better sleeper at two months than you are at four, five, or six months? Something’s wrong with this picture.  We’re fixing that soon, right?  Ok, good.

For a week or two, we’ve been giving you a little taste of water through a straw and you’re clearly not a fan.  I may or may not continue giving it to you just to see your face scrunch up in disgust.  We gave you your first taste of real food today – sweet potatoes. It’s taken me a while to come around to the idea of you eating real food but I think I’m excited about it. I just can’t believe you’re big enough for this!

It’s fun to watch your little personality develop as you grow. I love you more than you can imagine.

Love,

Mom

  • She is beautiful! :)

Our boy went through a really bad sleep regression at 6 months – it was really tough on us all, but like everything, it passed. So don’t worry too much about a big sleep pattern change around 6 months, you’re doing just fine :)
