Love // hate // tag

Andrea nominated me for this fun challenge.  Here’s the rules:  the person “tagged” must share 10 things they love, 10 things they hate, and then nominate up to 10 other bloggers to do the same! It’s a great way to get to know others!

I really tried to come up with 10 loves and hates that went beyond the obvious.  You know, so I didn’t include things like a day off as something I love or getting in a car wreck on my hate list.  {Hate list, that sounds bad, doesn’t it?}  Life’s all about the little things so these are a few little things that I just love… and hate!

1. Sleeping in. It’s one of my favorite things about the weekend.  And sometimes it makes me feel really old that sleeping in is now 7:30.  In college, I slept til noon.
2. Good music.  When a great song comes on the radio, it just makes my heart happy.  Sometimes it’s a throwback to rock out to or maybe my favorite new song… either way it’s a LOVE, for sure.
3. Chapstick.  Especially if it smells good.
4. Plans.  The kind with best friends that are last minute and they come together beautifully without tons of work.
5.  Surprises. The good kind of course but surprises are so fun to me.  I’m never even tempted to peek at birthday presents or ask a million questions if I know a surprise is being planned.
6. Morning routines.  I love spending time with David in the morning.  Sometimes we get into deep conversations, sometimes we laugh hysterically and sometimes we’re just in the same room together but I love having that time with him.
7. Social media. I know it can get a bad rap, but I love being able to connect with a variety of different people.  Coworkers, friends I see all the time, childhood friends, college friends…
8. Laughing until I cry. My brother is one of the few people who can make me laugh until I cry and it’s just the best feeling ever.
9. Being on the lake. Ok maybe this one is really obvious but it’s one of my favorite places ever.  Sometimes we take a group of friends and eat, drink, ski and tube to our heart’s content all day long.  Other times it’s just the two of us and we go out there in the evening to relax.
10. The Little One. We’re overjoyed for our little one to arrive in November.  I’ve been feeling much better and we’re nearing the mark of finding out {boy? girl?} and the halfway mark.  I’m excited for some of the fun things to start happening.

1.  Laziness.  I can’t handle people who don’t work hard for something.
2.  Running late.  But it’s just in my blood.  No matter how I try to avoid it, I was born a Pierce and Pierces are always late. #endofstory
3. Not being able to brush my teeth.  I have this weird thing about brushing my teeth regularly and when I’m home, I do it several times throughout the day.  But it really annoys me when my teeth start to feel funky and I can’t brush them.  Ironically, I ALWAYS forget my toothbrush when we go on trips and if it makes it to our destination, it’s because David has packed it for me. #targetrun
4. Attitudes and drama. When people get an attitude for no reason it just makes me roll my eyes.  I was waiting in line at the post office the other day, and the lady behind the counter was giving a man his shipping options for the box he was sending.  I have no clue where he was trying to have this box delivered, but apparently it was a remote location and there was no next day delivery option.  He was trying to decide what option to go with and for no reason, she comes out with, “It’s not my fault.  Don’t look at me like that.  I don’t make the rules.  I’m just reading you the options.”  Calm down, people.
5. No songs on the radio.  I HATE it when all of my preset stations are playing commercials at the same time.  Shouldn’t you guys coordinate this a little better?
6. Having to wait at a restaurant. I think every restaurant should adopt Outback’s policy on this one: the entire bar area is first come, first serve.  It’s miraculous.
7. Vacuuming. Ugh, our vacuum cleaner is terrible and we have to vacuum like everyday.  #thankyouCopper
8. Comments. The kind that people can get away with because they try to disguise it as a compliment but it’s really not meant that way at all.  Like, “You’re so skinny, do you ever eat?”  Ok, seriously you aren’t even trying to be nice.  And if you ever spent any amount of time with me, you’d know I eat.  And size 4 or 6 is not some crazy, anorexic size.
9. A phone call when you could text. I’m so not a phone talker.  Or, more accurately, I’m not a chit-chatter on the phone.  If we need to talk to figure out something and it takes a few minutes – I’m down with that.  If what you’re calling about could have been sent in one text because it’s 20 words or less – send that text!
10. When I procrastinate. In school, I procrastinated all the time.  I still do it some but it always makes things more difficult.  And then I beat myself up because I should have just done it in the first place.

  • I hate being late more than anything and it bother’s me when other’s are late because my time is just as important as theirs!!! I wish I could sleep in but now even on the weekends it feels like 8 is sleeping in lol! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

  • Claire, this is such a great list! I am so glad you did it and you have some goodies on there! I found myself going yep, yep, and yep! Lol! I laughed about no songs on the radio because when you’re driving you just want to jam and I literally holler out “come on!” When that happens! And I can’t wait for your baby gender reveal. I hope you tell us :-) Excited for you! Have a wonderful day my lovely!!

  • Fabulous list!!!! I’m sitting here in my mind thinking – yep, totally, so with you! Oh man you nominated me…eeeeek! I better start working on my lists! xo Amanda @ A Brownie World

  • I totally have a Chapstick obsession. I have at least 2 with me at all times LOL! And I HATE people who are late. I’ll run a few mins late here or there but its usually not because I left late, its usually because I got stuck in horrible traffic. Oh and I hate the phone call when you can text thing too, so annoying!

  • I totally think we would be friends in real life! So any similarities!!!! And eeeekkk!! Can’t wait to find out what you are having!

  • I totally share your hatred of being late! When I moved to NYC and no longer drove everywhere, it was super frustrating having to rely on the subways since I had much less control of when I would arrive at my destination!

  • You should see my little zip pouch inside of my purse……lip glosses and chopsticks galore! Sometimes I feel like saying…..could you just text that instead of calling?? Thanks 😉 These lists were perfect!!

  • I love this so much, excited to play along. And laughing until you cry = the best!

  • This is cute!! I also love social media and morning routines :)

  • I swear, every radio station goes to break at the SAME time.

  • Oh how I love sleeping in, nothing is worse than the alarm clock on weekday mornings. And as much as I loved talking on the phone when I was in middle school/high school I’m definitely more of a texter now.

  • I agree with so many of these! I am a chapstick addict! I have them everywhere yet can never manage to actually finish one before losing it.

  • Wow that’s a pretty cool Summer list – yes sleeping in would also be on top of my list if I could!

  • Oh gosh, I can’t stand being late! And I married someone who is chronically late all the time. LOL! I must be a glutton for punishment. I also can’t stand those backhanded comments. They make me nuts! It’s always ones about how skinny I am. So stupid! I’m definitely going to have to get started on this, thanks for the tag girl!!
