That one time I wore lipstick

I always always always wear chapstick.  And when I want to feel really good about myself, I  throw on some lightly colored lipgloss.  Basically, it’s just a little shimmer.

But I’ve been noticing that in all my photoshoots, my lips have disappeared.  So I keep thinking to myself that I should add more color to my lip routine.  Que Joey and her comment about Wet N Wild lipstick {at $2} being her favorite.

Ok, I can try that.  So I bought it several weeks ago but never even peeled the plastic off.

But when this pink blouse got pulled out for Jana and Maegen’s linkup, I knew the lipstick had to be introduced too.

They’re basically the only two things I own that are pink.

  • I never wear lipstick either. The funny thing is, I have a drawer full of it. I have about 10 different shades of red, because I LOVE the idea of it. I just never actually wear it 😉

  • Love the lipstick on you! I almost never wear lipstick except when I’m going out or doing pictures but I wear chapstick every day! Lately I’ve been obsessed with red lipstick though. Thank you Taylor Swift for that LOL!

  • It is so true about lipstick in photos! I usually am the same as you – lipgloss or chapstick, but always do lipstick in family pics, blog posts, etc…because it makes a huge difference! You look great and I love the top!

  • Lipstick is my guilty pleasure! I love a good, bold pop of color and Wet N’ Wild is seriously a great brand for their price point. You picked a great color and it looks lovely on you :)

    • I would have never even thought to check Wet N’ Wild but thanks to the bloggy blog world for helping me out with that one. I want to try a new color though because I don’t like that one for everyday.

  • I love Wet n Wild! I only own one of their lipsticks though and don’t wear it much because it’s matte. I might pull it out and put a gloss over it! :) I love your necklace and blouse too!

    • That’s exactly what I did – I like the smooth feel of lip gloss so I put some on over the lipstick.

  • Great outfit! Pink looks great on you, and I love that lipstick on you. I’m not a big lipstick person either, but I have noticed that my lips seem to disappear in photos too. I should really give it a try. Maybe one day… 😉

    • You should! The Wet N’ Wild is only $2 so you can do a little experimenting with the color.

    I never used to be one to wear lipstick either, but last year it became my favorite beauty product! In high school I went crazy for eye shadows and now I never touch them. I’m all about that bold lip. :)

    Love the lip color and your top! I love bright pinks paired with black–such a classic combo.

    • Any recommendations for everyday kinda colors. That pink is a little much for me to pair with some things. I think I want something not as bright, maybe?

  • I always wear chapstick or gloss too – never lipstick! I feel like I smudge it or wear it off in spots straight away. Plus in the winter my lips are so dry they always seem cracked or peeling so lipstick just highlights that. But you can totally wear lipstick! Goes perfectly with the blouse :) You look lovely!

    • Thank you! This was really outside of my box but I had fun doing it. Now I’m going to try to find an everyday kinda color. We’ll see how that goes…

  • I love the color of both! That’s a good $2 spent! :) I have a few lipsticks/tints/crayons… I tend to like the ones that are more moisturizing better.     • Too much work to reapply. Plus, I’m always worried about reapplying something without a mirror and having it all over my face or something. I guess there’s a reason I’m more of a chapstick girl. I may have to try Burt’s Bees.

    • Thanks! The necklace was a Christmas gift from one of my favorite people ever. And I’m thinking I’ll experiment more with lipstick… it’s brand new territory for me!
