Two ways to wear grey leggings

You know how some people have these great outfits that go from day to night?  And they’re like… perfect transitions from the office to the bar?

Well, that’s not really my life.

I mean, I two ways to wear is my jam.  {My lady jam.  Sorry, Pitch Perfect moment there.} But I’m more about the running errands/dinner out with friends kinda look.  {There’s really no weeknight barhopping in my life.}

And with the holidays approaching, it usually means traveling.  Anytime I travel, I attempt to wear leggings.  They’re just so dang comfy.

The best part?  I can easily go from a casual look to one that looks {and feels} a little more pulled together.

To transition the two looks, I traded sneakers for boots, added a cardigan and scarf {because all good cold weather looks incorporate those}, took my hair down and added earrings.

I recently found the fleece lined leggings on Living Social for $10.

And now I keep wondering, how did I live without them?
Just kidding.  But I do wear them alllll the time.

I bought grey and black.  I’ve had many black leggings but the grey was a new look for me.  And I gotta say, I’m diggin’ it.

{Sorry for the boring scenery.  This is the first time I’ve had to do indoor pix and it’s not my favorite.  But sometimes ya gotta just roll with it.}

Today I’m linking up with Annie from Home of Malones for the Thanksgiving linkup.  Because this is the perfect traveling outfit.  And we’re headed to the Atlanta area to eat some turkey.  {Sorry, family, if you see me in this outfit again.}  And I found a brand new linkup to join today!  Jana at Life Could Be a Dream and Maegan at The Modern Tulip host The Creative Closet linkup.  This week’s style is something cute & cozy.  {Pretty sure leggings fit that bill perfectly.}

    Love the leggings in all the looks. Black ones would be great too with any color added in scarves and sweaters. You got it going, girl. Of course I love you in everything!!!!

    OK, your leggings are a great look, I admit. But the pic with Copper–how is that poor guy not freezing to death without his HAIR?

    • He is freezing. That’s why he’s staying inside andddd we just bought him a doggie jacket. And he hates it. Hates it so much he whines for it to come off. Crazy dog.

    I got a pair of gray fleece-lined leggings the other day too! Yay! :)

  • YES YES YES! I don’t know how I ever survived a football season without fleece leggings! I usually wear them under my jeans at the games to keep extra warm! I’m totally loving this “two ways to wear” thing you’ve got going on! And I do the SAME THING with leggings when I travel! Great outfits lovely!

    • Yes! Every time I’ve had to bundle up already this season {ok, so it’s been like 3 times but still…} I’ve worn them under my pants. It makes such a huge difference!

  • This is totally the right way to do leggings!! I love that you made sure your top was the appropriate length in both options – that’s one of my biggest pet peeves when it’s to short lol!! I’m going to be travelling for Thanksgiving and you just inspired me to make sure I wear leggings!!

    • Do it girl! I love how I can make my leggings look like a real outfit {as in, not yoga pants} but I’m still comfy.

  • Very cute!! Leggings are seriously the best thing to travel in. Comfortable no matter how you’re sitting in those tiny airplane seats! I love the easy way you’ve fancied it up – the scarf and cardi combo is great :)

    • I agree! Can’t travel without them!

  • I love wearing leggings, especially to travel! I love the scarf in your second photo, too! :)

    • Thanks! Coming from the travel expert herself, I consider this a huge compliment.

  • We’re traveling for Thanksgiving next week and I will definitely be wearing leggings! And how have I NEVER heard of fleece lined ones?! Those are a must have living here in Michigan!

    • Yes, girl. Go get some! A coworker told me today she found some at Hamricks… not sure if you have one in MI or not? But seriously… life changing!

  • Leggings are my jam too girl! And you’ve dressed them up and down perfectly. The second outfit is totally something I would wear traveling especially by plane. Casual and cozy! Thanks for joining our link-up :)

    • So glad I found you guys! I’ll be linking up on the reg :)

  • I love that scarf! Where did you get it? I can totally see myself wearing that outfit with jeans to work – that’s basically the same outfit I live in every day but I do need to find a cream colored sweater now!

    • Ha, me to. It’s always boots, scarf, layers… that’s my go-to winter look. The cream cardi I’m wearing is from Gap outlet recently and it was like 40% of $20 so… how can you pass that up? And I’m not sure where the scarf came from. I may have stolen it from my sister a few years ago…

  • I love that second outfit! It’s so cute!

    • Thanks! It’s basically my winter uniform.

  • Jana

    I love both looks, but the second is definitely my favorite. There is something so perfect about leggings layered with a cardigan, boots, and a scarf. :)

    • I agree! My winter wardrobe pretty much always consists of a cardigan, scarf and boots!
