Two ways to wear: scarf edition

This week’s two ways to wear comes with a bit of a twist.  One of my students/basketball players told me the other day… “Hoots, you always wear a scarf.”  Yes.  Yes, I do.

And I’m always looking for new ways to wear them.  {Ways that look nothing like Megan’s 5k idea.}

More on that later.

Back to my outfit and two actual ways to wear a scarf.  Because I wouldn’t let Megan out of the house in her getup.  I told her she looked like the taliban and they might thing she was trying to bomb our local 5k.

If I gave you this combination of clothes to wear…

And by the way? Setting up clothes like this is harder than you might imagine. Just saying.

You would style it just like this, right?

But… I saw this a month or two ago.  And I’ve been wanting to try it.

 So, here’s a second way to style this outfit.

I’m not convinced yet.  Does it look kinda apron-y?  Or homely?  Have you seen anyone else rock this kinda belted scarf look?  I feel like the fringe on mine was a little much but it seemed like the perfect fall scarf.  Right?

And yes.  I cheated.  because the belt isn’t actually in that first picture.  But just roll with it.

The two ways to wear series is here.  And it’s basically the coolest thing everrrrr.

And just when you thought I was done… two more things.

Thankful Thursday is back tomorrow!

TWO | Song of the week

And since I have this crazy obsession with music {I play it alllllll the time} my current favorite jam is “All about that Bass” by Meghan Trainor.  Because It’s just the perfect rock out  song, right?  Every time it comes on the radio I get really giddy and crank the volume up loud.  {The other drivers near me really appreciate my dance moves, too.  David just rolls his eyes.}

Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I’m supposed to do
‘Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places

I see the magazine workin’ that photoshop
We know that stuff ain’t real
C’mon now make it stop
If you got beauty beauty, just raise ’em up
‘Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

{I may or may not have had to change a word in those lyrics.  This is a family-friendly blog.}

I’m linking up with Helene for Song of the Week!  I can’t wait to see what everyone else is jammin’ with.

    I like the long scarf and the fringe. It is a great look and adds interest to an outfit. Scarves are the best. They add the final touch and keep your neck warm too. So what’s not to like! I need to find more of the kind like you wear.

    • Thanks. I’ve been wanting to try this one for a while now and it’s interesting to see that everyone likes it so much.

  • I actually think I like the belted scarf look! Different but really cute. I’m a big scarf girl too. I’m always trying to add one to whatever I am wearing. lol!

    • It is different… it’s interesting to see that so many people commented that they liked it. I can’t really make up my mind on it.

  • Love the way you styled this outfit. The second way to wear the scarf is neat and definitely not predictable!

    • Aw, thanks. It makes this look feel more doable knowing that so many like it.

  • I love the belted scarf – I think it looks great!!

    • Thanks! Now it’s your turn to style it this way.

    Going out of your comfort zone to belt the scarf was a good idea!
