The busy girl’s guide to the manicured life

If I had to chose one accessory that makes me feel fab, it’s a fresh manicure.  There’s just something about a new color on my hands that puts a fresh spin on things.  It’s my guilty pleasure and I love trying new trends.  But, who has time to update their nails every 5 seconds?

I can get a full week out of one manicure with this top coat.  If you’re a nail girl, go buy this!  If you’re not… you could use it on your toes and it would make that last foreverrrrr.  Here’s the link if you want to buy it online {it’s on sale for $4.99.  Seriously, what else are you gonna do with five bucks?}

Here’s my routine…

manicured life guide

If you’re really gung-ho on making it last a week or longer, it wouldn’t hurt to put an extra top coat or two on there throughout the week.  I also have to confess that I can’t take sole responsibility for dishes around here.   David does a lot of the dinner dishes while I put them away and wipe down counters and that kind of thing.   I {obviously} don’t have any children to bathe so those type tasks might take you down a day or two but I bet you can still lengthen the life of your mani.

And while I’m in this confession mode… I never spend my time trying to keep the polish just perfectly on my nails.  I apparently don’t have very good control, especially with my left hand.  So, I just kind of embrace it and then peel it off my skin in the shower or after I wash my hands the next day.  Here’s a picture of my most recent mani attempt…

See how terrible it looks there?  Don’t sweat it.  This picture was my inspiration as I was scrolling through instagram..

{Totally need some cool rings like the inspiration pic.}  But not bad, right?
Try it… because it really is a lifestyle.  And then let me know what you think.

    Claire, love your busy schedule ideas posted today Sept. 17th. One idea I find works well is to make sure you have located everything you need to take to work the night before. I have a badge I have to wear and maybe want to throw an extra pair of comfy shoes in the car or a snack or lunch for the work day. I make sure I have these ready to go the night before so I can just grab and go in the morning. If these things are lined and ready it saves a ton of time in the morning.

    • That is a really good one! Sometimes I’m good about doing that and other times I slack off and pay for it in the mornings… when I’m running around like a crazy person!

  • I’m SO going to try that top coat. Thank you!!

  • I might have to check that out! My nail polish never lasts more than a couple days.
