3 Things I’m Loving

Last time I posted about the things I love, I noticed that it sparked some fun conversation among friends. So, here we go again.  Will you comment at the end of this post and tell me about the things you’re loving?

3 things i'm loving

  1. Spotify. So this isn’t a new thing for me but it’s like it’s reappeared in my life recently. You probably already know how much I love listening to music pretty much all day (if not, you can read about it here) but I’m kind of loyal to Pandora. Until recently, Ari was playing with the iPad and she played like two Destiny’s Child songs in a row. And I’m all dancing around the house singing And all you fellas leave your girl with her friends ‘Cause it’s eleven thirty and the club is jumpin’, jumpin’. Somehow I had forgotten that you can create playlists and it’s glorious. I had a really good throwback playlist from a beach trip a few years ago. When it’s time to clean, there’s nothing like some good throwback music. I’ll probably create a few more playlists for all of our roadtrips planned this summer!
  2. Smoothies. Ari and I have started making smoothies every afternoon when she wakes up from her nap and it’s seriously the best thing ever. Our favorite is a berry smoothie but we’ve also done strawberry banana concoction and a peach smoothie. I can hide fruits and veggies in there that she normally won’t touch. And when the weather’s nice, we sit outside and eat it.
  3. Workouts.  Since last fall, I’ve been streaming workouts online and getting my butt in gear before Ari wakes up every morning. I’ve been pretty consistent about working out but it was always a little of this going through my head: Well, I did arms yesterday so… maybe legs today? And then: Eeek, when was the last time I did cardio? 😳  Maybe I should throw some of that in. Yeah, really random. My friend Kelly is a Beachbody coach and I’ve joined her in this. Basically it means that I have access to 50+ fitness programs online and if you’re interested in some motivation to get healthy, I can help out with that. In addition to streaming workouts, the programs all have calendars so you know what to do next and it helps with the motivation piece. You know, so you’re not aimlessly wondering around YouTube looking for a workout like I did. It’s been a game-changer for me both physically and mentally.

You want a bonus one today? Ariana is at such a fun age. In some ways she’s such a big girl and can do things by herself. In other ways, she’s still my little baby. We’re having so much fun this spring. We’ve been hanging out with friends and playing outside like crazy. I don’t know if I’ve ever really and truly had a favorite age until about 16 months. She’s hilarious and makes me laugh all the time. Today, she got a shot glass from the dishwasher and held it up to the refrigerator for some water. So she spent most of the morning like this:

    Lol I love that she was drinking out of a shot glass. I LOVE Spotify. I had it for a long time but then my friends’ got premium & put my on their family account & it was life changing. That’s pretty much all I listen to now. I’ve started drinking smoothies for breakfast everyday again like I used to. Now if only I could also get on the workout bandwagon…
