Baby Girl,
Whew. Last month you started crawling… now you’re cruising! You go so fast now and Mama can’t keep up! For a while, you wouldn’t attempt to pull up on furniture or your toys but the second somebody sat in the floor with you, you took advantage of the human jungle gym. Within the last week, you’ve been pulling up on everything… nonstop.
Girl, you bump your head all the time. There was a 10 minute stretch today that you hit your noggin on at least three different things. And you want to be comforted but you don’t even stop crying before you’re wiggling out of my arms because you’re ready to get down and explore. Although you aren’t cautious with your head, you are so careful when you go from standing to sitting. In fact, I’m pretty sure that 98% of the reason it’s taken you until now to stand up regularly. You find creative ways to sit down gingerly. If you end up smacking down on your booty, you start fussing every time.
We’ve had Daddy home quite a bit for the last week so you’ve had a little more variety in your entertainment. You say “dadada” all the time, but you haven’t quite figured out the connection between the two.
A few weeks ago you got to spend your first girls weekend in Townsend. Apparently, you didn’t get the memo that it was a chill weekend because you were trying to party from 11pm until 4am. You’ve definitely started developing more of a clinginess, especially when you’re tired or in a new environment.
One of my favorite things right now is to watch you attempt to mimic what someone else is doing. I can just see your mind swirling as you try to figure out what to do. I can’t wait to watch that little mind continue to grow, expand, and change.
It’s so hard for me to believe that you’ve now been in my arms as long as you were in my belly. The current nine months has gone by a little bit faster than the pregnant one. I’m just so thankful that God gave you to us. Thanks for being my little love. You’re the best!
