Mad for plaid | how to keep your look chic

Plaid is everywhere this season and it’s the perfect winter look.  Not only does flannel keep you warm but it’s super trendy right now, too!  No longer does plaid get the bad rap of working only for rugged, mountain men.  Here are a few ways to keep your look chic when you rock one of the season’s hottest trends.

>>Pair it with fun accessories.  A big necklace, brightly colored sunnies, a great bag or some fun shoes are all great ways to add another element of interest to a plaid statement piece.

>>Have leggings, will wear.  Plaid tops are often loose and flowy so a pair of tight-fitting pants is the best way to keep it balanced.  Plus, who doesn’t love an excuse to wear leggings as pants.  Bonus: grab one from your favorite guy’s closet!

>>Mix another pattern with plaid.  Feeling bold?  A leopard-print flat or herringbone vest can be the perfect complement to your favorite plaid piece.

>>Branch out.  Move past the tried-and-true button down flannel top and try the pattern in a scarf, bag, shoes, jacket, or even nail art.  These accessories can be a chic way to add a pop of plaid to your look.
