Goals for November

You guys.  It’s officially “baby month.”  Think she’ll make an appearance in November or make us hold out for December?  I’m cheering for team November and I’ve been sending her those vibes but I’m not so sure that she’s listening.

I’m a little scared to check in on October’s goals because I don’t think I was very successful.

Devotions | Most days, yes.

Weekend getaway | Blowing Rock last weekend was gorgeous.  The fall colors were breathtaking and we enjoyed the relaxation.  Sleep?  Not so much.

Recipes | FAIL.  I don’t think I made a new recipe; actually, I don’t really think I cooked a whole lot.  And I still haven’t blogged the beef stew.  But it’s coming!!!

Nursery | Done!  As done as it’s going to be for now.  I’m sure I’ll constantly be discovering things that I need to change or add for the first few months but it’s ready for her!

Enjoy each day | ish.  This has been more difficult as we’re getting closer to her due date.  The anticipation is higher; the sleep is less; everything is more uncomfortable; back aches are more intense.  But still a special time.

Pack the hospital bags | I’ve been reading about what needs to be included and what needs to stay home.  It amazes me at the diversity of things that moms pack.  Some people bring everything from their own toilet paper so they don’t have to use the hospital’s and others don’t even bring their own toiletries.  So I’m trying to find that middle ground and bring the things we’ll actually need/want/use but at the same time not go overboard.  I bought some travel size toiletries this weekend so that they can be packed and ready to go.  I need to get some clothes together and bag it all up.

Install the carseat base | I guess that’s a crucial part of bringing her home.

Blog the beef stew recipe | I’ve been talking about this recipe for at least two months and have yet to make the time to sit down and write it out.  Katrina’s on pins and needles waiting on it!  And if at all possible, it’s coming this week.

Blog the nursery reveal | “Reveal” might be too strong of a word to use.  I did take some pictures this weekend so there’s a good chance that post will happen this week, too!  {Seriously, what are you gonna do if I actually blog more than one or two days this week?  Don’t faint, ok?}

Morning devotions | You know this one’s always on the list.

Enjoy every day | I really made it a goal with this pregnancy to enjoy each new phase as it happened.  Pregnancy is one of those times where it’s too easy to focus on the end result of bringing the baby home that you don’t actually enjoy the time leading up to it.  Up until the last week or two, I feel like I’ve successfully treasured most days.  Recently, that’s been more and more difficult.  Not only are we so close to the end but I’m also barely sleeping.  And yes, I know I won’t sleep great when she’s here either but… she’ll be here!  So even though it’s difficult, I forced myself to put this one on the list again.  We’re 20 days from her due date and I’m trying to talk her into coming in November.  Don’t make us wait for Decemeber, Baby Girl.
