What’s up Wednesday?

Since we’re at the end of July, I’m in that denial stage that every teacher goes through.  We go back to work in HOW MANY days?  This has been a great summer and I’ve gotten so many things checked off my summer bucket list, but it also feels like there’s so much left to do!  Time to get in productivity for days mode but also enjoy these last few days to relax.  How do I accomplish both?  I have no idea.  But here’s a little peek into what’s been going on around here recently.

What we’re eating this week | I’ve been all about the crockpot this summer!  It gets tons of use in the winter because eat taco soup and chili on repeat.  And I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of spending five minutes in the morning rather than an hour in the evening.  But I’ve never had a great repertoire of summer crockpot recipes so I’ve recently made pork tenderloin and we loved it!  We eat a lot of chicken and beef so this was a nice variety.  I found a way to incorporate leftover ravioli into a meal and it was yummy.  But my absolute favorite has been a delicious rendition of french dip sandwiches.  Seriously delicious!  Recipe coming to the blog soon, so stay tuned.

Megan said the ravioli is two ways to cook.  {You know, like two ways to wear?}

What I’m reminiscing about | This picture popped up on my timehop this week.  All my girls the night before our wedding.  The two flower girls aren’t little anymore!

What I’m loving | Mom made these adorable burp cloths for Baby Girl!

What we’ve been up to | This has been anything but a lazy summer for us.  We may have started this season off with two weeks of vacation, but we’ve been going nonstop since we got back on July 3rd.  We’ve completely cleaned out the office and made room for a kitchen office.  We moved the guest bedroom to the former office.  We’ve refinished some furniture for Baby Girl’s room and set up her crib.  We spent a lot of time looking for a rocking chair to go in there and found a great one.  {We also ended up with a new sofa and love seat on that shopping trip!}  Our biggest project has been cleaning out the basement.  We’ve probably taken at least 6 loads of things to Goodwill and the things we’ve kept have been organized.  We’re almost done.  Almost.  Even with all that, we’ve found a little time for fun.

I don’t have a before picture, but my shoes didn’t used to be this organized.

What I’m dreading | My friends who are teachers will get this; having summers off is the best thing ever.  Not only does it allow time for things like projects around the house, but it also allows for time to rejuvenate.  And then you’re starting fresh with a new school year and I love that feeling.  Right now, I don’t have everything done that I want checked off my list before heading back to work.  I’m not dreading going back, I’m dreading cramming everything in to these last few weeks or not getting it all done and then having to make time to get it done on the weekends.

What I’m working on | Being thankful for the things and experiences God has blessed me with.  I don’t want to be someone who constantly wants more, bigger, better, fancier, newer.  Too much stuff isn’t always a good thing.

What I’m excited about | Getting some decorations going for Baby Girl’s room.  All of her furniture is in there – with the exception of the chair which has been ordered.  Now it’s time for the fun part!

What I’m watching | Parenthood!  We’re on the second season and loving it.  Crosby is my favorite and Sarah is so annoying to me.  The comedy and family dynamic is so relatable.

What I’m listening to | You know I’m obsessed with Pandora so it’s on pretty much nonstop here.  I like to start out every morning with worship music to put myself in the right mindset.  When it’s time for a switch, we’ve been loving the Carrie Underwood station.  And then when that gets old, it’s usually been a John Mayer station.  But at the moment, it’s on 2000’s Pop Radio and it just played a Britney Spears song.  Told ya, a little bit of everything.

What I’m wearing | Anything that’ll fit.  These are some of my favorite recent looks…

And by the way, hashtagging sneak peak is NOT a good idea.  Found that out last week.

What I’m doing this weekend | My best friend from middle school is getting married and my other middle school bestie will be there!!  Here’s a picture of the three of us from 2010 and I can’t wait to recreate it this weekend.

What I’m looking forward to next month | My sisters, aunt, mom and grandmother have a mountain weekend planned!  We did one in 2011 and had so much fun.  I’m also excited to get back into a routine with work starting back up.  Now if only I can get everything checked off my list first!

What else is new | Got to keep this adorable Little Man while his parents did some work on their new house this week.  How sweet is that smile?

What I’ll miss about this summer | Waking up without an alarm is my jam.  We’re up and moving around 8 every day but it is so nice to just wake up when your body wakes you up.  And considering next summer will include a 6 month old, I’ve been taking advantage of this wake up when I want thing.  It’s incredible.
