Pink or blue?

Today is the day!!!

One thing that every mother {to-be} looks forward to is finding out if their child is a boy or girl.  I haven’t really gotten a feeling one way or the other.  There are things about a girl that I would really be excited about and other things about a boy.  When the second one comes along, I might have a stronger opinion.

Here are a few old wive’s tales to determine the gender so I thought it would be fun to make some predictions.

1. Carrying high or low?  Ancient wisdom says if your baby bump is high, it’s a girl and low, it’s a boy.  Although I don’t have any previous pregnancies to compare to, I feel like it’s low.

Blue. {1-0, blue}

2. Heartbeat.  If it’s 140 or below, it’s a boy.  140 or above, it’s a girl.  At our last appointment, the little one’s heartbeat was 154.

Pink.  {1-1, tied up}

3.  Sweet vs. salty cravings.  I don’t even know how to answer this one.  I always eat salty and still do.  But I have to admit I’ve had a craving for NERDS and ice cream.  But they haven’t been intense cravings.  And I think I crave ice cream every summer so I’m not sure that’s any different.

???  {we’re just gonna stay at 1-1}

4.  Chinese birth chart.  This one has to do with month of conception and mother’s age.  I clicked to do one online and then it was trying to make me enter an email address and password and social security number.  Just kidding.  But it was way too much trouble.  I have a coworker who asked my age and month of conception and her verdict was boy.  I’m just going to assume she did it correctly.

Blue.  {2-1, blue}

5.  Skin.  The tale is that if your face breaks out, you’re having a girl because she’s stealing all of your beauty.  If your skin stays clear, you’re having a boy.  I haven’t noticed any big skin changes.

Blue.  {3-1, blue}

6.  Morning sickness.  If you’re nauseous, it’s a girl.  If it’s been smooth sailing, boy.  I think the sea-band life is pointing towards girl on this one.  {If this one holds out to be true, I’ll be praying hard for a boy next round!}

Pink.  {3-2, blue}

7.  Sleep position.  Supposedly, if you sleep on your right side, it’s a girl but on your left means you’re carrying a boy.  I’m all about that right side when I actually fall asleep.

Pink.  {3-3, all square}.

Should we just leave it there, tied up?  I think we should… mostly because I’m tired of searching for more articles.  And some of the ones you read are very… bizarre and I’m just not going there.

What’s your guess?  Sound off below… and then check back soon for the official reveal!!!
