Friday favorites

{How long has Pinterest been calling it saving instead of pinning?  I just noticed it when I found this quote last night.}

Here are a few of my favorites from this week!

Articles | I read two good ones this week
I know Lilly Pulitzer for Target was EVERYWHERE this week but it’s really not my thing.  I kind of enjoyed this article about how it’s just a lower quality and everyone went crazy buying 654684351 pieces just so they could ebay them.  I mean, really?

Adult life is sometimes synonymous with boring.  But it’s also nice to know that other people are in the same boat… and we can all giggle about it.  Check out what BuzzFeed had to say about it.

Throwback moment | Too good not to instagram

Ecards | I don’t know how you can discriminate when it comes to ecards {I pretty much relate to all of them!} but this one seriously made me laugh out loud.

Blonde moment | Can you still call it that when your hair isn’t blonde?  Remember last Friday when I was complaining about losing my blog post?  And then recreating it?  Somehow… I realized on Wednesday that it showed up as a new page at the top of my blog.  Like where I have About me and Two ways to wear and all that jazz.  Please tell me all of you saw that and were laughing at me.  This idiot thinks she lost her blog post but really she just posted it as a new page instead of a new post to her home page.
#facepalm

Mop | Speaking of last week… this adorable little puppy that lives at my house made everything disastrous.  When it rains every day… his paws, my floors and the mud are just not a good combination.  But Lauren mentioned this Bona Hardwood Floors mop.  And since I hate Swiffer, it was worth a shot.  And yes, I realize how lame this makes me to make this a Friday favorite.  But it really is!  Because now it takes me 5 minutes to have shiny floors.  And that… that’s a win for $30.

Show | Fixer Upper.  Anybody else watch this show?  I think I’m way behind, as usual.  They take such dilapidated houses and turn them into gorgeous, magazine-worthy designs.  {If we up and move to Waco, TX, you heard it here first.}  But my favorite part is the genuine quality that Chip & Joanna exude.  Here’s a little inspirational video of Joanna’s story and how God’s makes promises about our lives and it’s our job to trust Him and His timing.  You won’t regret it.

Outfit | I’ve enjoyed fashion for as long as I can remember.  Some days, I really enjoy dressing up.  But I will go to great lengths to wear jeans to work on a Thursday.  #teacherlife

It was “tacky tourist day” at school.  Surprised it’s not the maxi?  Me too.

Live it up this weekend!  It’ll be gone before you know it.

  • Tacky tourist day – how fun, I wish I had themes to dress up for at work LOL!! Too funny about your blog post, but we’ve all been there!! Hope you have a great weekend girl! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston

  • Love the quote-so true! In so many ways!! I’m with you on the Lilly madness…not my thing either and what some women will do to get that stuff. LOL!

  • I LOVE Fixer Upper!!!!! Pretty sure watching it is why I was pumped to move…. And original hardwoods….#score. Just waiting to find #shiplap. Sadly I Google mapped my Houston visit to Waco….3 hours away. Didn’t have an extra 7 hours to go exploring. Bummer. Happy Friday!

  • haha tacky tourist day?! We didn’t have anything that original when I was in school. We had crazy hair day and school pride day. That’s about it. LOL! I am SO glad I am not the only one that isn’t going crazy for Lilly Pulitzer @ Target. It’s just not my style at all

  • HAHA so true about the diary thing! That’s hilarious. I never thought about it that way! Haha “tacky tourist day”? That’s awesome! I wish I still got to dress up for fun things! Happy Friday!

  • This post is gold. I can’t believe your post ended up as a “page.” Dying. DYING! And the tourist outfit…you rocked out! :)

    • I’m such an idiot. When I saw that, I was like WHAAAAAAT just happened?

  • Haha omg! Yes! That ecard…I’m stealing it & putting it on Twitter/Facebook

  • That eCard is so perfect! It’s so true, which is sad. The Target Lilly thing made me really mad, but I guess it is over now and everyone can rest easily!

    • I love how ecards explain life so perfectly.

  • Darcy

Seriously eCards is my favorite! I have always wanted their day calendar but have never been able to find it!!

    • That would be like a little dose of sarcasm perfection every single day!

  • That ecard is so genius – and true! Fixer Upper is my favorite show, and I’m dying at your outfit you wore to school. Have a good weekend!

    • So happy I found Fixer Upper!

  • Stop it!! That ecard is hilarious! So spot on!
Love your tacky tourist outfit! Eric and I dressed up as tacky tourists one year for Halloween, ha! It was actually a lot of fun putting those outfits together!

    • What a fun halloween costume idea. I can never think of stuff like that when halloween rolls around.

  • LOVE that ecard, so sad that it’s sooo true! I’m barely on FB anymore because it’s become a few too many people’s personal diary entries throughout the day 😛

    Happy Friday!

    • It really is. But somehow that part is sooo entertaining!

  • I lover Fixer Upper! I went to college in Waco (and my husband grew up about 30 minutes outside of it), so every once in a while we see people we know on the show! It’s crazy. :)

    • Woah, how fun is that? And then you get to see their gorgeous houses… I want one!

  • Wooohoo!! This made my morning that you tried the mop & that you love it!! It really is amazing, especially for us dog owners :) I am fairly certain it was one of my top 5’s last week haha Have a great weekend, Claire!

    • So easy to use and mopped up all the mud beautifully!

  • I’m with you on the whole Lilly Pulitzer frenzy, not my thing either. And I loved watching Joanna’s story form Fixer Upper. So inspirational. Have a great weekend! ~Cynthia

    • Lilly is just too much for me. Too much color and pattern. Glad you loved that little video – I even made David watch it.

  • Tacky tourist day…how fun! I love Fixer Upper too! Have a great weekend!

    Doused In Pink

    • Best show ever – I’m watching it like crazy now!

  • If that quote isn’t the truth then I don’t know what it haha

  • These are great! I LOVED that buzzfeed post. And, Ecards? ALWAYS relateable.

    • ALWAYS. So glad you agree!

  • Love your ecards and your tacky tourist day outfit! :) Hysterical. Okay, so you like the Bona hardwood floor cleaner? I should get one is what you’re saying? Hope you had great weekend, lady! xo

    • Yes, so good. Like cleaned everything up in two seconds. Has a little sprayer thing. The part that does the dirty work is removable and washable!!! I hate swiffer so I’m pumped about this one.

  • You are hilarious. I seriously snorted several times. Love that eCard, though. How true!!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend, and thanks for linking up again with us!

    Katie @ Cup of Tea

    • Oh man, I’d love to know what made you snort!! Probably the ecard or the fact that my favorite thing about this week {other than wearing jeans on Thursday} was the fact that I can actually mop my floors now. Seriously, life changing.

  • I love dressing up just as much as I love dressing down. I just told my husband the other day I needed more comfortable t-shirts, lol. Love the tourist look! 😉

    Brooke
    pumps and push-ups

    • Dressing down during the week is like a little gift. And one I really appreciate!!

  • That ecard is too funny!! My hubby and I are obsessed with Fixer Upper! Chip and Joanna are so much fun and incredibly talented!! Thanks for linking that video… clicking through to check it out now. 😉 Have a lovely weekend! xo – Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate
