Favorites from this week…

I bought these shoes.  And now I need to find some inspiration on the best way to style them.  A few days before, I was looking at the Steve Madden and JCrew versions of these.  I was so in love but I just didn’t want to spend $50+.  So when I happened upon them at Target for half price, it was love at first sight.  {Technically, it was second… but that just doesn’t sound as good.}

The best part?  I bought them with a gift card.  Actually, we had a gift card snow day date this week.  We saw American Sniper, ate the soup and salad lunch special at Olive Garden {to all my Italian friends + family, don’t kill me…} and picked up some fun things at Target.  And we spent a total of $6.  It was perfect.

Remember this sneak peak on Instagram?

Yeah.  Well, I just didn’t like it.  So I came up with a new logo.  And I’ve been using all these snow days to work on some new projects that I’m really excited about sharing soon.

My monthly goals force me to make a new recipe every month.  A snow day {a different one than the American Sniper date… we live in North Carolina, ok?}  is the perfect chance to make a new soup that your boss brought to Soup-er Bowl lunch, right?  But as I was juicing these limes, all I could think about was how much I wanted a margarita.

I’ve always wanted to create Instagram collages that don’t have the border separating the pictures.  {Don’t act like you don’t know what I mean.}

So I did what all adults do when trying to figure out Instagram.  I texted my college-aged sister.  And even she didn’t know.  So I googled that ish.  And discovered the solution is an app called Frame Swagg, if you’re wondering.  {And yes, swagg has two g’s.  Obviously.}

This week I had so much fun with my Fashion {experiment} week.  Feeling lost?  Catch up on the pattern mixing look, the sweater + dress thing and the sneakers with a “fancy” outfit.

Speaking of fashion blogging… you know you’re a fashion blogger / basketball coach when you have this many bags by the door.  #bagobsession

Go get Joey’s book on Amazon.  Now!  {It’s only $1.99}  I finally downloaded it last night and it’s a page-turner.  Plus she’s a self-published author so you gotta have some respect for that!

How was your week?  What do you have planned for the weekend?

    • We love gift cards around here! The Target one was burning a hole in my pocket so I was really glad to finally be able to spend it! Happy weekend to you, too!

  • OOO… I love those shoes too! Target has the best deals on shoes. My shoes come almost-exclusively from there now. It sounds ike you had a wonderful evening for $6! And I need to show my husband the picture of the bags. I do the same thing, and he acts like I’m the only person in the world who does.haha

    • Men don’t know what they’re talking about! Target is my go-to for shoes also, now that I think about it. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  • I saw those shoes at Target and I’m kicking myself for not even trying them on! The gift card date sounds perfect, especially when you only spent $6! Can’t wait to hear about your new projects!

    • Wore the shoes for the first time yesterday and LOVED them. New go-to with every outfit shoes :)

  • I think you could totally rock those with some skinny jeans or cuffed jeans. And when summer comes around i bet they’ll look great with shorts and a crew top.

    Is the app only for instagram, or can you use it separately?

    • I knowwww… I love how versatile they’ll be throughout the seasons! Joey’s book? I think it’s only an ebook.

  • That snow day date sounds perfect! The soup & salad lunch special is my favorite. The chicken gnocchi soup is bomb!

    • That’s what David gets. I get the pasta… not even going to attempt to spell the Italian word that comes after it.

  • I saw those limes and immediately thought of a margarita. I’ve had two in the last two weeks. It’s the perfect Friday afternoon treat.

    • Seriously! It was like the smell was so overpowering that the margarita was all I wanted. Forget the soup!

  • I LOVE having days out where you don’t have to spend very much money because of gift cards. We normally get a lot of them for Christmas so we get to have more date days at the beginning of the year. lol! I’ve seen a couple pairs of shoes at Target that I would really love to get. I just have to convince the hubby that I need more shoes…hahaha!

    • We get tons for Christmas too! That’s what these were from. David’s really good about asking for them for his birthday, too. More shoes… always!

  • American Sniper was sooooo good! I love those shoes! I saw them but bought the espadrilles instead. I think you should style them with some distressed boyfriend jeans and a loose sweater! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can actually wear the clothes I want to wear! I hate Winter and hate getting dressed in the morning because I am sick of my winter clothes! Oh the agony

    • I know right. Dang winter… move along. I can’t wait to wear them with everything :) And yes, loved American Sniper. We hadn’t been to the theaters in so long but that was a good one to see on the big screen.

  • I get into so much trouble in the shoe aisle at target. I ALWAYS see something I like. They are never unreasonably priced, so I usually end up talking myself into them. It’s a problem.

    • So true. Sometimes I even talk myself into multiple somethings.

  • Darcy

    I want a pair of slipons like that! I haven’t decided what color to buy yet but theyare SO cute!

    • I had been looking at some online and then the Target ones were much more affordable, plus I had a gift card so obviously they HAD to come home with me.

  • I wish I had any kind of design talent… that logo is beautiful! We had a gift card date night last night, as well! Cheers to living on a budget 😉

    XX, SS || A Little Seersucker Sass

    • This whole design talent {not really sure if it can be called that} is brand new to me. I’m teaching myself the basics and having fun with it!!

  • Those shoes, those shoes!!! Target seriously has the best buys… gotta love them :)

    • Right? I love Tarjay so much!

  • love your outfit! so pretty.

  • I love using up giftcards. That sounds like you had all the perfect giftcards for your day! And your new shoes are adorable!

    • So great to get new things without spending any money! I can’t wait to do outfit posts with the new kicks :)

  • I am such a giftcard hoarder because I wait until it’s something that I really want! I love your date though. Also, SO pumped for your new excitement! :) And p.s. I’ve made collages on PicMonkey, too! :) xo

    • I’ve used PicMonkey some too but it was frustrating me last time I tried to do the collages, part so… I gave up. And seriously, thank you God for gift cards!

  • Target always comes through! Those shoes are so cute! I love your new logo!

    • I’m going to post the soup recipe tomorrow or next week. It was a lot of work {for me… because my cooking is simplistic} but it was delicious!
