Weekending | the extended version

The best thing about today?  It’s still technically the weekend when you don’t have to work on Monday.  All day yesterday I kept breaking out in a huge smile and saying, “Guess what babe?  We don’t have to work tomorrow!”

In my opinion, an extended weekend is right up there with chocolate and wine, in terms of my love for them.

But just in case you do have to work today, I’ll stop rubbing it in your face.  Instead, I’ll show you just a peek at the awesomeness that was this weekend.

Friday night started off with two wins!  When I got home, Kaitlyn and Kenzie were already here and Ryan wasn’t far behind.

If you follow me in on instagram, you already got to see this picture of me and my favorite cousin but I’ll share it again, just in case you missed it.  {That would be tragic.}

And here’s a few other pictures that I snapped.  {Actually, most of the photo creeds go to my sisters.}

I just can’t tell you how much fun it was to have Ryan here.  When we were growing up, he would come and spend at least a week with us every summer.  He’s kinda like a brother to us.  As great as it was, no one enjoyed it more than Copper.  Last time Ryan came {which was a few years ago}, Copper was scared to death of Ryan.  {He’s that way with most males.}  This time, they were instant best friends.  He snuggled with Ryan, followed him everywhere and I swear he was depressed when he saw Ryan’s suitcase.

So, to recap our weekend…

On Saturday, we watched a little basketball {mostly to pull against Duke} and had a slow morning.  While the guys finished up the basketball game, I persuaded Kaitlyn and Kenzie to help me with a fashion post.  {Check back on Wednesday for that one!}

Saturday afternoon we decided to play volleyball and basketball.  After all that, we grabbed dinner at a local spot with great live music.  Sunday morning was laid back until everyone had to hit the road.

Sunday evening I was able to do a little bit of bloggy blog stuff!  I need a little help from all my bloggy blog friends…
1.  Where do you store your photos?  I need to transfer photos on my computer to a photo storage website.  Is one better than the others?  Are there free options?  Help!
2.  I designed a button!  It took a while but I like how it turned out.  Here’s the problem…
Screen Shot 2015-01-18 at 11.14.49 PMI need to know how to get the blue square with question mark outta there.  Also, pretty sure that code isn’t supposed to show up in between my button and the grab box.  And I also don’t think the actual image is supposed to be in the grab box itself.

So, hellllllp!  I used this tutorial but all this coding stuff is brand new to me.  I’ve figured out a few basic things but… obviously not this.
3.  Also… my widget area on the right side seems much smaller than what I see on other blogs.  Is there an easy way to make mine larger?  I use wordpress.org.

Make sure you check back tomorrow for a pop of color style post that I’m co-hosting with Jana and Maegen for the Creative Closet linkup.  {Fashion blogger friends – get in on this linkup!  I love that they always have a prompt because sometimes it’s nice to have some direction for photos.  Plus, I always love to see how others style it.}  Wednesday will feature Kaitlyn and Kenzie and Thursday is my list of 28 things you should be doing {you know, because I’m about to be 28… holy old lady, when did that happen?}

Hope you all have a great Monday!

    • Thanks for hosting it! And yes, it was the perfect weekend :)

  • I backup my photos on dropbox. I’ve found it’s the most reliable. I haven’t had a terrible experience with photobucket, but I don’t know how private of a storage place it is.

    • Good to know… thanks for sharing!

  • Yay for long weekends!

    • Amen, girlfriend. If only we could make this happen every weekend…

  • My Widget area seems to be about the same size as yours… so I can’t really help ya there. Somehow I was NOT following you on intsagram, so I did miss that picture :( It’s alright though, I’m following you now :)

    • Followed you back! One day I’ll learn more about how to work all this widget/wordpress/button/coding stuff. Maybe it’s the theme??

  • I have a cousin who is like that too! I cannot believe how tech savvy you are! Please let me know what storage you go with for your photos! Also, I’m with you! It’s a gift when we don’t have to work on a Monday!! Enjoy today! xo

    • I hope that’s a sarcastic comment because I am not tech savvy – I just have to google everything and then I get frustrated when it doesn’t work. {Short fuse, much?} I think I’m going to look into photo bucket and dropbox and I’ll let you know which one I go with.

  • I love your new button! So pretty. Looks like you had a fun weekend! Congrats on the two wins. :)

    • Thanks, now I just need to figure out how to make it work…

  • Unfortunatley, I am awful at coding things but I really love the way your grab button turned out! It looks great! I hope someone can help you out with that.

    • Me too. I always google it and then when it doesn’t work I just kind of don’t know where to go next.

  • sounds like you had a great weekend!

  • Dancing with the pup – so cute!! I’m with you – 3 day weekends are right up there with chocolate and wine like you said!! Hope you’re having a great day off!! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston

    • Hope you were able to enjoy the day, even with all your errands. Hey, do you have another blog? This is the first comment where it’s come through as bespokebostonweddings but the URL says nothing found.

  • Extended weekends are indeed the BEST THING EVER (and extended weekends WITH chocolate and wine are even better!) 😉 Thanks for sharing some of your life…and I like the button! :)

    • Thanks, Summer! Now I just have to learn how to fix the button… and finish off the weekend with a glass of wine.

  • Looked like such a fun weekend!! Hooray for the extra day. I think flickr is great for storing pictures for the blog. Good luck!

    • It was so much fun and an extra day just adds to it. Thanks for the picture storage tip. I’ve got to figure it out soon!

  • abcfwspamela

    Ugh SO jealous you were off yesterday. That extra day makes such a huge difference!! Happy Tuesday girl!

    • It really made all the difference in the world. It was weird though, because usually I’m counting down the days to a day off but this time it kinda slipped my mind. So when I did remember, it was like this excitement!!

  • It looks like you had a great weekend! I store my pictures on an external hard drive normally – however that crashed a few weeks ago. :( I have now paid for the professional version of dropbox. It’s $99/year (but I use it for work stuff and blog stuff so it’s okay) but then everything is up in the cloud somewhere. Also, I think there is a button creator option somewhere… search that. It may help? :)

    Thanks for joining the celebrate southern linkup!

    • Thanks for the help! I’ve used an external hard drive also but I think I’m going to use an online option this time.

  • Barbara

    I just love everything about this post!!! Your family looks like so much fun! And I’m so proud of Copper 😉

    • It was a fun weekend! Thanks for stopping by, Barbara.
