An ecard for everything

This has been a great week!  No, I didn’t get my Christmas shopping done.  {Why didn’t I do that online?  Wasn’t that my goal?  Do I still have time for online shopping?} Still haven’t found a new refrigerator.  But sometimes you just gotta roll with it.  {My motto, as of late…}

Tuesday started out in a less than stellar way.  Saturday was my work Christmas party and when we got home, David hit the garage door button.  It was rising… then started going really slow… then BANG.  Hit the ground.

Short story is a bunch of stuff broke {gears, chains, belts… idk} and my car was stuck on the inside.  Luckily {I say this with an eye-roll} we have a third car.  Why?  Because David doesn’t want to get rid of it so I just go along with it and never give him a hard time about it.  Obviously.

Ok, ok, it came in handy with mine being stuck in the garage.  Sunday and Monday I drove this ’96 Camry with 32049832098402 miles on it.  No heat, breaks barely bring you to a halt… a joy to drive, really.

Ok back to Tuesday morning… I go out to start the car since I’m spoiled and usually my car has been in the garage.

Nothing.  No sound.  No turn over.  Just straight silence.

Great.  First on the list, pour a glass of wine call David.   He doesn’t answer and the secretary “doesn’t know” if he’s available or not.

I call my school.  No answer.  In a rush, I call my girl Erin to see who has first period planning and can cover for me so that my room doesn’t get burned down with no adult present.

She offers to come pick me up.  {Extra jewels in your crown, Erin.}  I call the school and tell them we should be there right a the time first period starts.

Message never gets delivered.  Principal thinks we’re skipping out.

Although it did start out in a very hectic way, I was also reminded that chaotic doesn’t have to equal bad.  As I was getting in the car with Erin, on speaker phone with David, he said something about God was trying to teach me to be coachable.

He’s so good at always reminding me to see the bigger picture.

And because I had the right mindset, it really was a good day.

Amber gave me a Christmas gift this week with lots of delicious homemade goodies in it.  Then when I got home I noticed she had also put some Mary Kay cosmetics in the bag.  And, let me just say, Timewise cream will make your skin SO soft.  Even if you accidentally forget to take your makeup off from the night before.  I’m sitting here just touching my face right now.

And since this is the season for one more… we’re going to Asheville this weekend.  Just the two of us.  To relax and getaway and celebrate.

    Claire, it must have been something in the air this week as my battery was dead today @ 615 am. Mom was awake recommend I take her car and she would deal with mine as she only had lunch plans today. So I leave but on my 45 minute drive I call Tom Pressly, cousin, he recommends RTClapp or Sears as they need to remember to reset all my settings from dead battery. I call mom to tell her the recommendmations so she will call and see who can get her in first. $138.00 later new battery and mom makes her lunch date. I agree with David we all need to remember to be coachable. Luv e. Aunt Suzy

    • Oh no :( Sorry to hear all that.
