We’re winding down on another busy week and it has felt so good to have one flow smoothly because that wasn’t the case last week. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for about a month now. Because tomorrow is the day to bake all the Christmas goodies! Katrina and I will be playing Christmas music and toasting with hot chocolate and dipping pretzels in white chocolate!
Here are the highlights from this week.
Two David stories for you.
1. I may have mentioned before that David is obsessed with the word, “trending” {and he always says it that way… never trendy} He thinks that word is hilarious and I’m not sure he even knows what it means. So one day when he got home from work, he changed clothes and said, “Look, I’m trending.”
He’s told me before that when a tshirt is longer than a sweatshirt, it’s trending. Our conversation went something like this:
Claire: Why is that trending?
Dave: Because you do it. And you don’t do anything that isn’t trending.
2. He called me during practice the other day and asked if he should get another crockpot. Because it was only $20.
He’s convinced that if we have two crockpots, he’d get twice as much chili and taco soup. Like he doesn’t get enough already.

Dad came to Tuesday night’s basketball game. Despite living an hour and a half from us, he’s come to close to half of my games in my three year coaching career. He gets really into the games {we have one on video} and it’s fun to reconnect in that way. When I played, we always bonded over basketball.

Timehop reminded me that this week was 6 years since I met this guy.
I may not have a picture of the two of us from that night, but here’s Megan and I!

On Wednesday, Heather and I took our student council group on a leadership retreat. {Can it still be called a retreat if it’s only one day?} It was fun to interact with the kids outside of school and get some things planned for the rest of the school year.
Since I was out all day on Wednesday, I had to get to school early on Thursday. This was my view on the drive in.
It took my breath away for a second. It put a positive spin on my early morning drive. And pictures don’t do it justice at all. I kept snapping {pretty sure I have like 12 pictures} hoping one of them would turn out.

Here’s an update on our appliances.
1. You know you eat a lot of soup when…
Your dishwasher has 12 bowls and only four plates.
2. Don’t you love our new fridge?
Yes, it looks similar identical to our old one. Our new one got delivered last night and then we discovered that the doors wouldn’t open because of the wall. Ugh.
So, here’s what I’m choosing to learn:
>> God has a better fridge in mind for us. And maybe it’ll even save us some cash?
>> Things are not in my control. And that’s ok.
How was your week? Mine was a little better than normal because I got to hang out with my new pillows. Ya know, ’cause I’m cool like that.
