{DIY} Christmas pillows

I’ve been wanting to make these pillows for weeks and I finally had the time to do them this weekend!

I mean, how great are those?  For my house, I wanted some neutral pillows that would bring a little Christmas cheer into the room.

I bought 18×18 pillow covers from Hobby Lobby and just used the pillows that are usually in the living room to stuff the covers.

For the first two pillows, I used a mechanical pencil and then switched to a wooden one that had lead that was already a little dull.  It seemed to work better on the fabric when the pencil didn’t come to a sharp point.

I had several sharpies that I corralled and found that the smaller the tip, the less it bled on the fabric.  However, even with the thicker tips, it was an easy fix to go back over where it had bled and use the smaller tip to fill it in.  Because if you start with the small tips, it’s difficult to ever make the lines very thick.

I simply drew the letters with pencil and traced them with the sharpie.  I specifically wanted black letters on white pillows but if you wanted something brighter, you could definitely do a red or gold or something festive.

So now I’m racking my brain… what else can I draw on?  Maybe I’ll make some pillows that I can leave out all year around.  Or maybe I’ll start drawing on tshirts?  The possibilities are endless!

If you have any questions, feel free to comment it up and I’ll answer them.
