Friday favs

I’m keeping this short and sweet today because everyday this week has felt like it should be  Friday.  And it’s finally here!

We have this Supper Club tradition going.  {Have I told y’all about that?}  So Saturday was our turn to host.  I made chili, David made cornbread.  The boys watched football.  {Ok I watched some too because it was UT}.  We just spent some time together.  It was glorious.

Sunday funday!  We’re the most boring people ever on Sundays.  But not this week!  My little brother is playing college basketball and we got to see him on opening weekend!  It was so fun to watch him do his thing out there!  When I left, I felt inspired.  Inspired because I could see how much he had grown as a person and a player.  Inspired because he gave it his all out there.  Inspired because he wasn’t satisfied with it… he was already talking about ways to improve.

Saturday I blogged about Kelly nominating me for the Liebster award.  She asked these ridiculously hard questions that I really struggled with.

Except one.  The food that I could eat nonstop and never tire of?  Chex mix.  The homemade kind.

Fast forward to Monday.  I mean, first of all, it’s a Monday after a Sunday funday so you know I’m already feeling behind.  Second, it’s a Monday where I have to be at school from 7:30 am until 9:30 pm {for basketball events… they don’t normally make us work that long!}.  When I got home, David said while he was in class {online, for grad school}, he heard a knock at the door and Dawn, a friend and blog reader, had read the post and decided to make a batch.  And she shared with me!!  What?  It seriously made my day!

So, at 10pm on Monday night, I was laying in bed eating chex mix.  And then I had it again on Tuesday for breakfast.  And by Wednesday, it was gone.

I had a potato soup fail last week.  But David decided to get in on the kitchen action and he redeemed me.  His was delicious and we are most definitely eating it again soon.  Well, first for leftovers then we’re making another batch!

A few people commented or texted about thankful Thursday yesterday.  I’m continuing it every Thursday this month.  You should join in.  Write about anything {and everything} you’re thankful for!
{Kerrie’s post is here and Lisa-Marie’s post is here!}  Did I forget anyone?  My brain is kinda dead at the moment…

Aww! Thanks for the shout out! I’ll be making more and would love to bring more if you promise not to tire of it! It was worth bringing it just for the sweet hug from your hubby ! See ya next time! If you’re not home I will leave it on the porch and text to let you know it’s there.

    • He does give pretty good hugs, doesn’t he? I never get tired of that stuff… I seriously appreciated that you brought it by. But next time I want to be home so I can give you a hug too!!

  • Aww, I know that feeling about a little brother. My little brother played football, and I felt the same way. :) Chex Mix is so good & I love the potato soup story. Yay for marriage and helping each other out! :)

    • There’s something exhilarating about watching your younger sibling, right? A sense of pride mixed with… I don’t know what! Love that you love chex mix… most people don’t get it. Thank goodness I have a supportive and helpful hubs. Couldn’t make it through without him!
