High five for Friday!

Friday, you’ve been missed!  These are my top moments from this week.

Friday night, Katrina and I decided to do a craft night, drink some wine and catch up.  {Remember how I called her out last week?  Apparently it worked!}  We had to kick David out… who was bent on watching some western movie with terrible music.  My craft didn’t work out {mostly because I didn’t have everything I needed} but Katrina worked on several different things.  Laid back nights with friends are just perfect.  Especially when they involve wine and no alarm set for the next morning.

Last weekend, David’s mom threw a surprise birthday party for his dad.  We had lots of fun helping plan the event and then hanging out with family and friends on Saturday night.  Eric, Amy, Brady and Jackson came in town Saturday morning so we got to spend some time with the boys during the day on Saturday too.  David and Eric wanted to ski and they let me tag along for the afternoon lake trip.

Last week, I had gotten a Facebook message from one of my high school friends who said she was interested in starting a blog but had a lot of questions.  We ended up texting back and forth and then deciding to meet at Starbucks on Sunday afternoon to catch up.  It was so great to see her {she was exactly how I remembered} and then we worked on cool blog stuff.  I’m no expert but I’ve learned a thing or two on this short journey and I’m excited for her to start blogging.  She has an awesome idea coming and I’ll share as soon as she goes live!

Monday nights are Bible study nights at my house.  David has class and a few girls come over… it’s honestly one of the highlights of my week, every week.  I’m so thankful for this group of girls who are my go-to girls.  Here’s my favorite quote from this book so far.  “God, I thank you that my life is just as it is.  Every problem has been your gift to bring me to the place I am right now.  You wouldn’t have permitted any of these things to happen if you hadn’t known that it was best for me.”  {page 13 from Power in Praise}  Powerful stuff. The whole point of this book is to teach us how to thank God for everything in our life instead of constantly asking Him to change it.

My favorite series {can you call it that yet?} is the two ways to wear posts.  I feel like it truly defines my fashion sense.  I always try to find ways to wear things multiple ways and this has pushed me to be even more creative.  Like the boots post from yesterday?  Never woulda done that without a little nudge.  It also gives me a reason to steal clothes from my sisters.  {And those of you who know us know that we always borrow clothes from each other!}  The white sweater in two ways to wear solid white?  Kaitlyn’s.  The bedazzled white tshirt paired with the shorts?  Her’s.  Two ways to wear boots {when it’s hot outside}?  Yeah, can’t take credit for the boots either.  But… I’m on the lookout for some similar to those, so if you know where to find them… let me in on it!

If you receive the email updates, I accidentally had this scheduled to post a day early… so you got a little sneak peek!

Now, bring on the weekend!

  • Ah! How fun to connect with an old HS friend for blogging! I had something similar happen to me a few years ago and it was awesome!

  • Yeah, it was great! To me, this is all about connections. I’m loving meeting new people and reconnecting with old :)
